Back in action, finally

Well – this is probably the longest I’ve gone without blogging since I kicked off my blog way back in October. I feel SO out of touch, it’s not even funny. Lots of Google Reader catching up to do over lunch today. 😉

First and foremost, though, thank you all for your awesome comments about guest blogger Meg’s post last week. Isn’t she amazing?? (and please agree with me that she NEEDS a blog of her own, ASAP!)

Anyway, I can’t tell you all enough how glad I am to be back in action after being away for work for the majority of last week. Granted, I ended up having a lot of fun in Houston and Austin – which included lots of random food “firsts” – grasshoppers, for one. Something called “Kaloches” for another. And my favorite? True Texas BBQ – which was nothing short of amazing, not gonna lie.

So all told, I definitely am embracing routine today. Back to normal eating habits and most certainly back to working out as hard as ever (though I am proud that I managed to workout both days I was away – even if it was the measly treadmill one day, the elliptical the next!). And what I’m probably MOST excited about today? That I’m back at the weight training now that the initial frenzy behind learning the new Kick release has subsided a bit. I do still have work to do there, though – based on Saturday’s class I co-taught, it wasn’t all that pretty, not gonna lie, but hell – I have to accept that I can’t be perfect all the time, as hard as that is for me to admit. And yes – it took me awhile to get past that on Saturday as my husband can definitely attest to!!

OH! Before I forget – true to my word, Heather, I’m trying to incorporate “people pictures” into my blog more often. I think it gives more life and personality than just words all the time. I’m TRYING, at least. 😉

So these pictures are from the semi-annual bar crawl we’ve instituted amongst our friends after the smash-hit of a bar crawl we had when my sisters and I turned the big 3-0 last fall. It was a GORGEOUS day in Boston on Saturday, perfect for moseying up and down Boylston and Newbury Streets all afternoon/night. Somehow I managed NOT to be hungover on Sunday which is nothing short of amazing based on the wine that was consumed on Saturday. Whoops. 😉
