Oh this (barre) journey

So I wasn’t going to post today but I just had to share a quick pointer to my ‘instructor spotlight’ over on the barre n9ne studio blog. Not just because I figure some of you might want to read it (hehe), but also because it struck me this morning as I re-read my own words in that post.

Oh this (barre) journey of mine?

…has been nothing short of incredible.

And this post sort of reminded me of that — of where I started: back in May 2011, as a client in dire need of a new beginning — and then fast forward to today: I’m an instructor, paying my own experience forward as much as I can.

I feel extremely blessed to be part of such a beautiful community of uplifting, strong, hard-working, and loyal barre n9ne clients and fellow instructors.

I feel such gratitude for all that the studio has become for me (and for my sister, too). It’s become my second home.

And I feel excited with anticipation for the promise that 2013 holds, not just for me personally, but for the studio — we have some pretty awesome things underway for the new year and I can’t wait to share them all here when the time comes.

But for now? I’m celebrating gratitude, celebrating this (barre) journey and using this post as a reminder to all of you to always embrace the journey, no matter where it takes you.

And if you aren’t sick of my sappiness by now (hee), please head on over to the barre n9ne blog to read my instructor spotlight. 🙂

Happy Friday, friends!

  1. Well done Jess, what a great achievement to be a barre instructor, I’m in awe and it sounds like you love teaching too. Can’t wait for the DVDs:).

  2. Love this sis, and your post on b9 blog, and all the positive feedback. You rock sis! And I love that we both kind of have our own style and approach with clients at the studio, in motivating and inspiring. It is so fun to see the slight nuances, and see you grow as an instructor and a student, just as you also watch me (I am guessing anyway lol). Love you!

    • Ha I totally watch you when I am lucky enough to take your class. It’s SO fun to create my own style and to continue to evolve and refine what I do in the studio every time I walk through the door. It’s been incredibly rewarding and FUN and I LOVE that you get to share the same exact experience. LOVE

  3. I loved reading your spotlight! I need to take another class with you and Jo, ASAP! All instructors have their own unique style and I think (as a student) I tend to feed off of it during all the different classes. I can always tell which instructors push me harder and which don’t because that’s when I feel the most “worked.” Oh and I HATE the blue ball when used at the barre, I’d rather pulse and squeeze without it!

    • Aw thank you my fellow barre addict — I LOVE how in love with barre you are too, it’s so fun to compare ‘notes’ hehe

I would love for you to come take another class together soon!! PS I love the blue ball, hehe 😉

  4. Love the barre article write up…and the shout outs to your favorite wines, SO good!!!

I should definitely give the barre out here a try in Chicago at least once in 2013!!!

    • Hehe I couldn’t avoid the wine shout-out, it’s such a big part of who I am hehe (spoken like a true wino!!)

And YES — please please try a barre class in Chicago, I promise you it’s worth it!

  5. Going to check out your post now!!

And this is something I really want to get into in 2013! Very proud of you. Look how far you’ve come in a few short years – inspiring as always!
